Nochar Inc. provides uniquely formulated acid bond materials to the nuclear industry, to ensure the safe remediation and disposal of hazardous waste materials. Our N960 polymer technology is designed to solidify oil, aqueous organics, acids and bases, acting is a widely applicable acid solidification material. It’s one of our flagship N-Series products, designed specifically to handle the cleanup and disposal of waste materials across the pH scale.
N960 is an environmentally friendly, cost-effective absorbent product that meets Department of Energy (DOE) standards for hazardous waste control and disposal. N960 is highly effective against a range of liquid waste products—even more effective than traditional clay, concrete, bitumen, and similar products.
About Nochar N960
Nochar’s N960 acid bond is formulated to bond acids, alkaline and contaminated aqueous waste, with or without radiological constituents. N960 is effective at both low and high pH ranges, creating a solid matrix for storage, transportation and disposal. This product has been consistently used throughout the nuclear complex to solidify transuranic (TRU) waste streams for transportation and disposal at Waste Isolation Pilot Plants (WIPP).
Nochar N960 polymer crystals have been found to be non-toxic, non-biodegradable, and incinerable to less than 0.02% ash with an absorbent capacity of up to 15:1 (oil–to–solidification agent ratio by weight). Pick up ratio and speed of solidification vary with the type of liquid being bonded, along with the number of volatiles remaining, temperatures and the viscosity of the liquid.
World Class Acid Bond Materials
Nochar Inc. produces acid solidification materials that are trusted worldwide and accepted at nuclear waste disposal facilities globally. Nuclear liquid wastes remediated with N960 have been successfully transported and disposed of from all former nuclear weapon sites, including Los Alamos, Oak Ridge, Hanford, Savannah River Site and others.
